With a career built on problem-solving and strategic thinking, Alex plays a key role in shaping the company’s direction and ensuring its success.
A Career Built on Expertise
Before leading Sure Systems, Alex worked as a high-end systems analyst at Encana. He managed a global email environment spanning Canada, Scotland, and Ecuador and contributed to the Citrix Metaframe team, deploying remote applications. A standout moment in his career was leading the team that split the messaging system when Encana transitioned to Cenovus—a challenging project that involved setting up and managing email servers from the ground up. Earlier in his career, Alex worked at another IT support firm, where he gained invaluable experience in operations and client support.
Leadership at Sure Systems
As CEO, Alex oversees everything from setting the company’s direction to managing sales and ensuring exceptional customer service. He takes pride in working with a team he trusts, fostering a collaborative environment, and delivering IT services that make a meaningful impact on customers. For Alex, the most rewarding part of his role is knowing his work helps both clients and colleagues thrive.
Beyond the Office
Alex’s drive extends beyond his professional life. He enjoys karate as a way to relax and stay sharp and is a fan of science fiction, citing Interstellar as his favorite movie and Star Trek: The Next Generation as his top TV series. His favourite superhero is Batman, who he admires for his problem-solving skills and perseverance and counts The Tommyknockers by Stephen King as a favourite read. When asked who inspires him most, Alex points to his parents, whose hard work and dedication shaped his values and approach to leadership.
